This is AMAZING.

This is AMAZING.

Nantucket Is ALWAYS A Good Idea.

I love love love Nantucket.

It’s the first place I’ve lived that I finally felt like I wanted to plant some roots and stay awhile. Somewhere to call ‘home’. I love the care free ‘island life’ that goes along with it. I love that you can come and go as you please and still be able to pick up where you left off when you get back (aka- off season).

Many people like myself see the magic in this island know that there is a whole world out there to explore and experience and I intend to take in as much as I possibly can. I know that all generations have people that want/need to travel, see and experience, but it seems as if there are more ‘Wanderlusting Millennials’ than any generation.

We (millennials) live in this Grey area (pun intended). Where we have tens of thousands of dollars of student loan debt, degrees we have no idea what to do with, and have this insane desire to make the world a better place. It’s just that nobody seems to know where to start, and we are okay with that. Our parents don’t get it but the more you talk about the need to do something, the more accepting they are as you actually make steps toward something- anything. They believe in you, which helps you believe in you.

I’m getting off subject.

This ‘offseason’ I will be closing up shop (kind of) while I do a lot of traveling and creating. I have a lot of interesting things up my sleeves in terms documenting my travels, designing new tees, and expanding my creative community. I will be starting in New Hampshire and working my way to California. I’m not really sure what the road will bring, but I have a lot of really great ideas, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

More updates coming soon!

Don’t Be Afraid to Shine

I have ALWAYS loved business.

I didn’t know I always loved business, but I always knew I wanted to be my own boss.

As far as I can remember I was always looking for ways to have some kind of tee shirt and design business.

When I wasn’t on Facebook, I would always be looking at creative sites- new designers, photographers, independent tee shirt brands and trying to figure out how much it would cost to get things screen printed. Literally, I can remember when I had gotten my laptop I had all of these ideas that I never put into play because I was afraid to spend the money I didn’t really have. Even in high school, after exhausting all of my photo class options, they let me have an independent study class and gave me a budget to buy screen printing equipment. But I still didn’t know what my ‘thing’ was. Or at least I didn’t think I did.

I knew that being a screen printer and a designer always sounded like THE coolest job. That if I could tell people I was a designer and screen printer that it would be the most amazing thing!

One of my first ‘Nantucket Experiences’ (extravagant experience with the super rich)- I was invited on this fishing trip. I thought it was going to be some chartered boat for a day of drinking and deep sea fishing. As it turns out, it was a yacht/fishing boat complete with granite counter tops, flat screen tvs and leather couches. It was quite the adventure. At some point the gentleman that owned the boat with the crew of men running it, asked me what my passion was, what I wanted to do and why I came to Nantucket. I said I wanted to screen print tee shirts. That was almost 2 years ago. I had just gotten to the island, I had just started working for another screen printer, and I had no idea that I would be where I am right at this very moment thinking about how I’m in the process of making this dream a reality.

It’s been a whirlwind couple of years, but I have made it my mission to do what it is I came out her for in the first place.

I love this little island and all of the opportunity it has given me to pursue my passion and help me create the future I always dreamed of. I wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of my community.

You’re passion is there. Don’t be afraid to let it shine!

Dream Big

We had the most amazing photo shoot the other week. We went down to Bartlett’s Farm Flower Fields in the morning, the weather was gorgeous and the flowers were amazing!

I’ve recently been thinking about how much has changed and how far I’ve come in my little business journey. Ever since I started following my passions I’ve been introduced and have become really great friends with amazing people who just want to help. Not because it helps them, not because they want some story of how they did this or that, but because they genuinely want to see you succeed and can help each other with the skills they have obtained over their own personal journey. It’s like a big trade network of friends. Now that I am a business owner, I would offer the same help these amazing people have done with me while I’m on my way to figuring out exactly what it is that I’m doing and encourage others to do the same.

It’s just really wonderful to know that you have people on your side, that you can work together and help each other grow as people and as thriving business’.

Follow your passions.

I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good.
